Following a successful rollout in Scotland and encouraging pilots in England, AAH Pharmaceuticals has turned its attention to Wales for the migration of its customers from LINK to the new ProScript LINK PMR system.
The company witnessed excellent attendances at customer-focused evenings held in Swansea and Cardiff where pharmacists were able to get close to the system, gain hands on practical experience and direct any questions they had to the IT experts that were on hand to help.
Leon Rudd, director of marketing for the company said: “We’ve completed the pilot stage and are happy that it’s gone well, so we’ve now begun the process of rolling the new system out to all our customers in Wales.
“This migration to ProScript LINK is planned to finish by the end of this summer, which will mean that all our pharmacies in Wales will be fully 2DRx compliant.”
After piloting the new PMR system, one of the first to benefit from the installation was A E Peterson Dispensing Chemists of Newport. Pharmacist and owner Alan Peterson said: “Changing PMR systems is a bit of a trauma at the best of times but doing it all at once for eight shops can be particularly so.
“The migration ran remarkably smoothly, much more so than previous changes, and the pharmacies have adapted well to the user friendly system.”
A E Peterson is one of three customers to have completed testing ProScript LINK but crucially the eight pharmacies in the group have made the switch from a competitors PMR system.
Mr Peterson added: “The change means that for the first time our entire group is using the same PMR system and hence the same ordering system. We are currently working on head office control of our buying.”
